The Golden Globes Beauties

Ah so it's one of my favorite (non-holiday) times of the year...AWARD SEASON...which means....GORGEOUS GOWNS and jewelry! Last night we had the Golden Globes and there a lot of very classic looking gowns, some artistic and very architectural creations, and ethereal flowing gowns. Here are my top 5 dresses:

#5 Lea Michele

I'm guessing this was her first golden globes but she looked gorgeous! She's one of the stars of Glee, which took home the globe for best TV Comedy or Musical and beat out 30 Rock and The Office. I really like how well the bodice fits on her and that sweetheart neckline.

#4 Anna Paquin

I thought this dress was perfect for her. She's young so she can take chances and this gown and its deep V is definitely taking a chance, but she pulled it off beautifully. You can't really tell in this picture but her gown is covered in jewels.

#3 January Jones

I know some don't like this dress but I think January Jones can do no wrong. She stepped out of the box but looks gorgeous. I don't think many can pull this look off but she does IMO.

#2 Maggie Gyllenhaal

I love everything about this dress--the color, construction, and fit are perfection.

#1 Emily Blunt

Perfection. The moment I saw her in this dress I know it was going to be the best of the night. I heard that there were 2 dresses she was trying to decide between and didn't know whether to go with the safe one or the risk. I'm going to guess this one was the risk---and it worked!

Lovin' Lulus!!

Ok so I've stalked Lulu's for awhile and admired all the cute things, but I've never taken the plunge and bought anything. Well I've found the following super cute and wonderful items that I may not be able to live without. Anyone know of any codes? Or, anyone know how their sizing runs, especially for dresses?

Dress #1: "To the Nines Dress" $30
Check out the back of the dress...SO cute!

Dress #2: "Through the Grapevine Dress" $30
"Black Jewel Box Ultra Suede High Heel" $34 (too bad they don't have my size)

"Camera's On Jacket" $46
Hmm...I also just noticed that everything I picked was either black or gray.

Spark who? Spark me!!

So the BF and I had another New Years Resolution of eating healthier. We've been keeping track of what we eat every day since Jan. 1st with Sparkpeople.com. If you've never checked out this site, here's my cheap plug: This site is great for keeping track of calories, fat grams, carbs, and protein. PLUS you can track you cardio and strength training, find new exercises, track your weight and measurements, find new receipes and join their forums (which are FULL of information). And the best part...It is ALL FREE!!!

In an effort to measure portion sizes and track what I eat, here's tonight's dinner:

Preparing the tofu and stir fry veggies.
(2 cups of veggies and 2 servings of sesame peanut tofu).
Also cooked 1 cup whole grain brown rice, with 2 tbsp soy sauce.
Added a glass of red vino.

Final meal: brown rice, veggies, tofu and a glass of wine for a
whopping 500 calories for the ENTIRE meal.
Not too shabby since I was very content after :)
(and...yes the bowl was as big as it looks----lots of food)

If there was a shopping "Fairy God Mother"....

So I think on a weekly basis, I'm going to do this post and pick a store and pretend I magically have $1,000 to spend there (from my shopping Fairy God Mother of course). Today's post will be from JCrew, because, well I love that place!!!

Here are my picks:
Textured jersey floral splatter tee , $45.00

Perfect for the Spring. I can picture this with a cute floral skirt, under a denim jacket, and with fun wedge sandals.

Pearl jewel box earrings, $68

Bows bows bows. Enough said. I think Gingersnap would like these!

Martina satin peep toes, $235

What a fun spring color...I picture it with the beautiful taffata dress below. Spring wedding attire perhaps? I do have one to attend in March and this may fit the bill.

Dream shawl cardigan, $118

Been dreaming over this cozy beauty for months now. Will it still work in Spring?

Silk taffeta bow monde dress, $225

Why hello pretty blue color called "caspian blue"...I will take one of you please!!

Marce sachel, $248

Just because I like this neutral color and because it looks so pretty.

Crystal symphony bracelet, $60

The perfect amount of "frosting" as Matthew McConaughey would say (see How to Lose a Guy in 10 days if you don't get the reference).

Ok so I came out to $999 before taxes, shipping, etc. Not bad. Now I just sit back and drool (er...dream I mean).

Happy Sunday!

Lets try this again...

Ok New Years Resolution:

1) Do a better job of blogging on a regular basis. So far I'm 0 for 2 in actually achieving this...BUT I feel this is the year.

Also...I managed to break TWO fingers over the holidays while playing a game of football with my boyfriend and his friends while in Albuquerque. Fortunately, no surgery is required but my fingers look like black and blue sausages (gross I know). I was able to pick out pretty pink wrapping to go around the splints though, so not all is a lost cause.

If only I wasn't right handed...Oh wait...I AM!! It's been quite difficult learning how to use my left hand for everything, including eating, brushing my teeth, putting on makeup, tying my shoes---you get the point. Thankfully while in the 505 (Albuquerque) my bf's sister did my makeup and hair. Thanks BT!!
