Big Discovery!!

After almost 9 months of having AT&T uverse, I just discovered today that we have FREE, I repeat...FREE....exercise videos from Exercise.TV!!!! I'm not talking about Denise Austin type videos (not that she isn't great) but recent videos like those from Jillian Michaels, Kim Kardashian, Harley Pasternak, Biggest Loser, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, etc.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome!!!!

I spent a whole hour just trying out new videos, including:

First workout: 13 minutes of hip hop dancing. So fun! (It wasn't this exact video but it was by Crunch)

Second workout: Not the book of course, but a workout routine from him that included 7.5 min of tough cardio, 75 shoulder presses with weights, 75 crunches, and 75 squats with weights.
Third workout: 30 min of Yoga Sculpt by Maura Barclay. Very intense yoga for intermediate and advanced. Not quite what I was expecting, but definitely a great workout.

Yay new videos. Also, with the weather being beautiful this week, I went out the to lake twice and ran for 30 minutes. Too bad it's supposed to rain and even SNOW tomorrow. Thanks Texas.

Beauties of the Academy Awards

Some of my favorites from the 82nd annual Academy Awards.....

Elizabeth Banks in Versace

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel Haute Couture (such a unique dress!)

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture (so beautiful for Spring)

Kate Winslet in Yves Saint Laurent (always looks beautiful)

Mariska Hargitay in Vera Wang

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta

And, on a related note, I'm so proud of my boyfriend for his fairly "spot-on" fashion analysis of tonight's gowns. He said exactly what I was thinking and about 2 seconds before I could even put the words together. Quite impressed. He even gave some quick snipit about Tiffany's jewelry. Point boyfriend!

Just workin' on my fitness

So I'm going to Vegas in May for my best friend's bachelorette party and I know we'll be spending plenty of time poolside. I'd like to get in kick ass shape before then so while at the grocery store tonight, I picked up some inspirational magazines!! While the BF and I started eating healthy Jan. 1st and I've already lost 3 lbs, I really would like to tone up and losing a couple more pounds along the way.

I've been pretty good about exercising over the past several years, but lately, between 2 broken fingers and a messed up S1 joint, I've gotten a bit lazy. I did go to the gym earlier this week but didn't feel like going out in the rainy, gross, icky cold weather so I opted for the 30 day Shred by Jillian Michaels instead. Love this woman! She knows how to kick some serious butt.

If you've not tried her DVDs before (or those in the Biggest Loser series), I HIGHLY recommend them.

Kick Butt and Be Happy.

Go Go Go Jane Goodies!!

So I've been in a shoe rut for the past several months but I came across these goodies on GoJane.com. They should be here on Friday and I can't wait! The site had good reviews which were important because I'd never ordered from there before.

Ruffled Satin Peep Toe Heel, $21

Suede Knotted Bow Platform Heel, $21

Crinkle Rosette Slingback Sandal, $14.30

So excited for these. I was in desperate need of new high heels for going out and think the black ruffle pumps will be especially cute for this summer.

The Golden Globes Beauties

Ah so it's one of my favorite (non-holiday) times of the year...AWARD SEASON...which means....GORGEOUS GOWNS and jewelry! Last night we had the Golden Globes and there a lot of very classic looking gowns, some artistic and very architectural creations, and ethereal flowing gowns. Here are my top 5 dresses:

#5 Lea Michele

I'm guessing this was her first golden globes but she looked gorgeous! She's one of the stars of Glee, which took home the globe for best TV Comedy or Musical and beat out 30 Rock and The Office. I really like how well the bodice fits on her and that sweetheart neckline.

#4 Anna Paquin

I thought this dress was perfect for her. She's young so she can take chances and this gown and its deep V is definitely taking a chance, but she pulled it off beautifully. You can't really tell in this picture but her gown is covered in jewels.

#3 January Jones

I know some don't like this dress but I think January Jones can do no wrong. She stepped out of the box but looks gorgeous. I don't think many can pull this look off but she does IMO.

#2 Maggie Gyllenhaal

I love everything about this dress--the color, construction, and fit are perfection.

#1 Emily Blunt

Perfection. The moment I saw her in this dress I know it was going to be the best of the night. I heard that there were 2 dresses she was trying to decide between and didn't know whether to go with the safe one or the risk. I'm going to guess this one was the risk---and it worked!

Lovin' Lulus!!

Ok so I've stalked Lulu's for awhile and admired all the cute things, but I've never taken the plunge and bought anything. Well I've found the following super cute and wonderful items that I may not be able to live without. Anyone know of any codes? Or, anyone know how their sizing runs, especially for dresses?

Dress #1: "To the Nines Dress" $30
Check out the back of the dress...SO cute!

Dress #2: "Through the Grapevine Dress" $30
"Black Jewel Box Ultra Suede High Heel" $34 (too bad they don't have my size)

"Camera's On Jacket" $46
Hmm...I also just noticed that everything I picked was either black or gray.

Spark who? Spark me!!

So the BF and I had another New Years Resolution of eating healthier. We've been keeping track of what we eat every day since Jan. 1st with Sparkpeople.com. If you've never checked out this site, here's my cheap plug: This site is great for keeping track of calories, fat grams, carbs, and protein. PLUS you can track you cardio and strength training, find new exercises, track your weight and measurements, find new receipes and join their forums (which are FULL of information). And the best part...It is ALL FREE!!!

In an effort to measure portion sizes and track what I eat, here's tonight's dinner:

Preparing the tofu and stir fry veggies.
(2 cups of veggies and 2 servings of sesame peanut tofu).
Also cooked 1 cup whole grain brown rice, with 2 tbsp soy sauce.
Added a glass of red vino.

Final meal: brown rice, veggies, tofu and a glass of wine for a
whopping 500 calories for the ENTIRE meal.
Not too shabby since I was very content after :)
(and...yes the bowl was as big as it looks----lots of food)
